Little is known of Edward M. Haight's career as an airmail pilot other than his service dates and location assignments. Haight was born on May 30, 1896 in Astoria, New York. As a pilot during World War I, Haight was a lieutenant in the 139th Aero, with 5 downed enemy pilots to his credit. During World War II, Haight returned to the service where he served as Colonel in the U.S. Army Air Force.
