Operations

There are many ways to move through Systems at Work. One is to look at the evolution of mail processing itself. The exhibit moves from the early mail processing system that relied on individuals to the machine era when mechanization took hold and began moving larger groups of mail faster and faster, and ends with the automation age, where computerized machines and complex software Improvements increase the ways in which mail can be “read” and accessed during its journey through the mail stream.
