The Massachusetts Postal Research Society is planning to update the scarcity ratings assigned to Massachusetts post offices in the book The Post Offices of Massachusetts by Crowther and Merolla. In that volume each post office is assigned a rating between 1 and 10, with
1 meaning currently operating and 10 meaning no postmarks known.

To achieve this, the society has prepared a list of all post offices with current ratings of 5 or greater. The list has a blank for each office, so that a respondent can enter the number of covers in his or her collection, postmarked at that office. The list will be mailed to Society members with issues of the journal and is available here to the general collecting public.
