Curtis JN-4H “Jenny” airmail plane being positioned for takeoff for the first regularly scheduled airmail service. The airplane is taking off from the temporary airfield at Washington DC’s Polo Field, a small strip of grassy land between the Tidal Basin and Potomac River.
