Green Ways to Move the Mail

Green Teens 2010

August 9 - 13, 2010

Workshop Overview

Teens, are you up for an adventure this summer?
Green Ways to Move the Mail is a free, five-day workshop for teenagers. Teens will not only get to go “behind the scenes” of Smithsonian museums, but also take the reins by creating their own online exhibits using the latest technology on smart phones.

Immerse yourself in history, environmental science, art and technology.
Mail is an important part of America’s communication network. The US Postal Service has the largest civilian fleet in the world. That’s a lot of vehicles and a big environmental impact. Teens will help envision a greener future by studying the history of the nation’s mail service. Additional inspiration will come from field trips to art and natural history museums, guest speakers, and group activities.

Join us to meet new friends, explore museum careers, and learn new skills this summer.
