Moving the Mail : Airmail in America : Some Early Pilots : Eddie Gardner and Max Miller

back

Eddie Gardner borrowed these goggles for his 1920 stunt flight. They were too large for his head and slipped down over his eyes. As he was trying to make a correction and clear his vision, the plane went into an irreversible dive. Gardner was killed on impact.
