The Smithsonian Institution's National Postal Museum invites students of all ages on an interactive journey through American postal history to follow the path of postal transportation development, uncover the mystery of mail delivery, explore the beauty of stamps, and learn the legend of Owney the dog!

The exhibits on display at the National Postal Museum cover a wide range of topics that may be applied to the classroom, especially for students of American history and language arts. Applicable topics include:

• Colonial America
• Westward expansion
• American geography
• Communications growth in America
• Growth of the transportation industry in America

Both guided and self-guided tour options are available for student groups.
