John Lennon Stamp Album accession
The Museum acquired John Lennon's childhood stamp album for its collection. The hardcover Mercury stamp album (circa-1950) was given to Lennon (then a Liverpool schoolboy) by Stanley Parkes (its original owner) who wanted to interest his young cousin in stamp collecting.
The album has 145 pages and features more than 550 stamps from several countries including India, the United States, and New Zealand. The album's flyleaf bears the name, address and signature of the young John Lennon.
