Dean Mitchell’s jazzy portrait of Louis Armstrong
entertained millions of stamp buyers in 1995. One year
earlier, the Postal Service found that Armstrong was
the most requested male subject, prompting the issuance
of this stamp not only on a pane with nine other musicians,
but also by itself. |
