Air Mail Service Ended: August 13, 1920
Assignment: College Park, Maryland

Fanning joined the service on August 13, 1920, but resigned almost immediately when his mother became severely ill and he was needed at home. On October 20, 1921, he wrote to ask for another chance in the service. He was not rehired.
