OBJECT SHOWCASE: U.S. Airmail Postcards

U.S. airmail postal cards appeared several years after airmail service began. The first such card, featuring an eagle in flight, was a 4 cent card sold on January 10, 1949. in the following decades, U.S. airmail postal cards featured themes including the Olympics, airplanes and variations of eagle designs.
