Mr. Corey began his Postal Service career as an Automotive Mechanic at the Northern Virginia Vehicle Maintenance Facility.  He transferred to the Columbia MD VMF and to the Baltimore MD VMF as a Supervisor, Vehicle Maintenance.  While in Baltimore, Wayne became the Administrative Assistant, Fleet Operations before being promoted and returning to Northern Virginia as the General Supervisor, Vehicle Maintenance.  He joined the Postal Service headquarters staff as a Fleet Maintenance Specialist in the former headquarters Office of Fleet Management.  Wayne became the manager, Vehicle Operations in November 2005.

Wayne brings strong institutional knowledge and experience to this position.  His significant strengths are in the areas of strategic planning, team building, and understanding of the automotive industry.  At headquarters, Mr. Corey has been involved all aspects of fleet management.  He has been a major contributor in the vehicle acquisition program, which has resulted in the purchase of over 65,000 vehicles with contract prices exceeding $1.8B over the past ten years.

His responsibilities include integrating new technology based vehicles into the postal fleet without disrupting normal operations. He has over 30 years experience with alternative fuel vehicles of all types and sizes and has been involved in the evaluation and acquisition of over 42,000 alternative fuel capable vehicles.

Mr. Corey received his vehicle maintenance training in the U.S. Army prior to joining the Postal Service.  His outside interests include fishing, golf, and of course, cars, particularly Corvettes.  Wayne and his family reside in Chantilly VA.
